Case Study 02

Overview

I created a concept brand called Spiculism to conduce a skill test for myself. I created a logo, branding, lookbook, and merchandise for it to test myself in the areas of UX Design, Graphic Design, and Creative Direction.

Collection

All garments in the collection feature all-over prints that mimic armor and chains. The bandanas, when wrapped around the wearers head, symbolize protection. The same can be said about the sleeveless tees. The last 4 pieces in the spread symbolize how a lot of people hide the heavy things going on in their life from the world, the anchor in the back sympolizes these heavy feelings.

Product shots showcasing several different looks and several different looks. A custom painting was created and used as a backdrop for the shoot and all looks were styled by myself and Cece Martinez.

Experimental Checkout UX Study

I wanted to test out different checkout methods to optimize time to checkout for users. Below is a 3-click checkout process I developed for a user to checkout. Note that this is a simple mockup for demonstrative purposes and is not a fully fleshed out design.

I used a simple desktop layout in which only products are shown. Mouse hover will show the user the backside (if available) of the product. Also, prices are in red and provide heavy contrast so that the user can easily see them.
If the user is interested in a product, they can click it, bringing up the size select as well as a zoomed in popup of the product to get a better look at it. Unavailable sizes will be crossed out. After the user selects a size, the popup will close and the item will be added to the cart.
Once the cart icon is clicked, there is a popup with a checkout ability. Users can remove products by clicking the X button. There is no option to increase product amount due to the limit 1 per customer rule. The total cost is also featured in black text to draw attention to it. The total amount of clicks to checkout is 3.
